Halloween Trick or Trot 5K Run/Walk & Monster Fun Run (October 26th)

The Hillside PTC would like to thank the participants, volunteers, sponsors, teachers and staff for what turned out to be an incredible day! We had nearly 300 people registered for the 5K and fun run combined! It was a great day and we are truly grateful for all the support.

If you are interested in checking out your 5K times, please click here for the lists of top finishers. We had a lot of Hillsiders amongst the tops overall and in each age group. Go Hillside!

Want to help us continue raising funds for our iPad initiative? We have a limited supply of ghost and cat lanyards available for purchase. If you are interested in buying one, send an email to Seema with your preferences AND send money (check or cash) in an envelope to school marked "Hillside PTC, Attn: Seema Meloni, Trick or Trot Lanyards. Your child's lanyard will be sent to school once the money is received. Send your money in by Thursday, October 30th in order to receive your lanyard on Halloween this Friday!

NEXT WEEK: Literacy Night with Author Gregory Mone - November 5, 2014

Gregory Mone's dual career as a children's author and science journalist allows him to tell some unique stories. His talks typically focus on the process of writing both fiction and nonfiction. There's a significant STEM component to his presentations, which feature flying robots and self-driving cars along with marked-up manuscript pages from novels, outlines and early notes from his books, and more. At the start he will review some of the wilder stories he's written over the years for magazines like Popular Science and Discover. He will talk us through the entire process of writing a book, from the initial idea through the planning, the creative writing, the revisions, and the finished work.
